Real. That is the word that inspires Holly Starr to be the artist she is: honest, passionate, and personal. The daughter of an onion-farmer, Starr began writing songs at a young age as a means to share Christ with her small-town community of friends. Now at 28 (and married), her passion for people has remained the heartbeat of her music. Over ten years and five albums later, Starr has traveled the country encouraging people to have faith both when times are easy and when times are hard.
With a sweet blend of pop and worship, Starr is an engaging worship leader and entertainer. Whether it be for a Sunday morning service, a youth camp or gathering, a women’s event, or a community festival, Starr has found a way of creating a musical experience appropriate for the need at hand, without compromising her passion for the message of Christ. She has been described as ‘intergenerational’. Her musical approach does well at engaging people of all ages – something unique to her ministry.
“Real life requires real people,” says Starr, “and I’m just trying my best to be one of those.”
